I’m expecting goals in this one as the two battle it out in what I expect will be a fast-paced encounter. In Newcastle’s opening fixture of the season, they thrashed Aston Villa 5-1 at St James’ Park, before losing 1-0 to Man City last week. For Liverpool, they have drawn one and won one so far, with a draw on matchday 01 against Chelsea, and a 3-1 victory over Bournemouth last time out. I think taking both teams to score here is a fairly safe bet.

 

Bruno Guimaraes to be booked

Bruno Guimaraes has been a very effective player for Eddie Howe’s side since he arrived on Tyneside, however he is not shy when it comes to getting stuck in and making a foul or two. Last season, in his 29 Premier League appearances, he collected five yellow cards, averaging 1.43 fouls per game. This season, he has already picked up two yellow cards, one in each of his opening two Premier League matches. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him pick up his third in three games against Liverpool this Sunday.

Diogo Jota has one goal to his name so far this season and has had two shots on target in so far, an average of one per game. I’m backing him to have more than one in this one, as I expect it to be a quick tempo, which will suit his style of play – running in behind. I think Newcastle may struggle to keep him quiet this weekend, and he could also be a good bet to get on the scoresheet. In his time in the Premier League, he has an overall shot accuracy of 40%. I think this has a good chance of landing, and it really boosts the odds of this bet builder.
