The Champions have a battle on their hands to keep hold of the Premier League trophy with Liverpool getting back to winning ways with a convincing win against Watford at the weekend. That kept the Merseyside club on top of the table but City can once again take top spot with a win or draw against Bournemouth, before Liverpool play the Merseyside derby against Everton on Sunday. Guardiola’s men saw off West Ham thanks to a Sergio Aguero penalty but they created enough chances to win the match five times over.

Bournemouth were thrashed at Arsenal to continue their poor run of form, but they are a much better side at home and have won three and drawn two of their last five games on home soil, winning the three home matches to nil. Eddie Howe will be well away this is a very different challenge and he lambasted his side for their poor start against Arsenal in midweek. We’re expecting them to get on the scoresheet here but City will have far too much quality going forward, so the first betting tip for this match is Manchester City to win and BTTS.

 

First Goalscorer Prediction

It is always hard to predict the Manchester City starting line-up because Pep Guardiola does rotate a lot, especially the wide players between Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez. Mahrez and Sane started on Wednesday night against West Ham and didn’t play very well, so we’re expecting one or both of Sterling and Bernardo go go back into the starting 11. One man who will play though is the in-form Sergio Aguero. The Argentina scored the first goal again in midweek and there is no reason to complicate matters for a first goalscorer prediction in this match. Correct Score Prediction

Bournemouth pulled off a remarkable 3-0 victory over Chelsea at the Vitality Stadium a few weeks ago, and Liverpool fans will be hoping that they can do something as remarkable this weekend. However, Man City are in a different league to most other teams in this league and when their main title rivals Liverpool went to Bournemouth, they ran out convincing 4-0 winners. It seems that the Cherries struggle against the real quality attacking teams because they try to match them, as was shown against Arsenal in midweek.

With that in mind, we cannot see anything but a convincing Manchester City victory to complete our Bournemouth va Man City predictions for this weekend. The best we’re going for is a 3-1 City victory and the odds for this are 9/1.
