Leicester vs Brighton Preview

It has been a poor season for Leicester City on the whole and they go into tonight’s match having not won in their last seven matches. They were thrashed 4-1 by Crystal Palace on Saturday evening and although Palace deserved the win, the scoreline was a big harsh on the Foxes.The unrest in the camp should have subsided with the sacking of manager Claude Puel and so we are predicting that Leicester will bounce back and win this game tonight.

Brighton are just three points above the drop zone but have made it into the last eight of the FA Cup. They shouldn’t be dragged into the real scrap at the bottom but will certainly have one eye over their shoulder and manager Chris Hughton will be all too aware that his side need more points.

The Seagulls have only won one of their last 11 matches in the Premier League (against Everton) and away from home they’ve lost four and drawn one of the last five. Leicester to win is the first of tonight’s Leicester vs Brighton Premier League predictions.

 

First Goalscorer Prediction

Jamie Vardy never seemed to be Claude Puel’s biggest fan and there is every chance that the feeling was mutual. The England striker was regularly substituted or left out of the starting line-ups for Leicester matches under the former boss. He is having a poor season by his standards with just eight goals scored but there is every chance he will be back amongst the goals now Puel is no longer the manager.

From a Brighton point of view, Glenn Murray would be the obvious choice in the goalscorer odds having been in good form this season, he scored twice in the recent loss to Fulham and twice in the FA Cup replay at West Brom. If we were backing an anytime goalscorer here then Murray may well be the selection, but for our first goalscorer prediction we want to be on Jamie Vardy to get the opening goal of the match at 4/1 with Betfred.
