The Man United love-in with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has taken a bit of a hit in recent weeks and the new manager is facing his toughest spell of his short reign so far. They’ve lost to Wolves in the Premier League and been knocked out of the FA Cup by them, and also suffered a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal.

They are still in the hunt for a top four finish but are now three points behind Spurs in that race, and all attention tonight turns to Barcelona’s visit. They will want to avoid a performance and defeat like when PSG visited a few weeks ago.

The Spanish side are 11 points clear in La Liga but perhaps more importantly for this game, they don’t have the best away record in the Champions League. Even this season, they have only drawn at Lyon in the last knock-out round and last season threw away a massive first leg lead against Roma, losing 3-0 in Italy.

Even though they have amazing attacking talents, it’s not always on show away from home but one display that we should take note of was the 4-2 win at Wembley against Spurs, where Lionel Messi was at his brilliant best.
